How to use this list
This is an editorial selection of twelve things to do, not a ranking. The first eight are in or next to the city. The last four are day trips: Paradise Valley, Souss-Massa National Park, Taroudant and Tiznit. Each entry says which kind it is.
Agadir was rebuilt after the earthquake of 29 February 1960, so you will not find a classic old town here. What you get is a beach city with a restored kasbah, a big market and a museum that explains the rebuilding. Allow one full day for the city and one or two more for day trips.

On the coast and on the hill
Beach, harbor, kasbah and cable car are all within a short ride of each other.
1. Beach and Corniche (city)
Agadir's bay is a long curve of sand with a promenade behind it. Walk the Corniche and try water sports if you like. Swimming needs care, because currents and waves can be strong and lifeguard cover is not guaranteed. Read the beach page first.
2. Marina (city)
The leisure harbor opened in 2007 and has cafés, restaurants, shops and boat trips. It is an easy place for an evening walk. If you want a boat trip, agree the price, the duration and what happens if the weather cancels it before you pay.
3. Kasbah Agadir Oufella (city)
The restored hilltop kasbah looks over the bay and the port. It is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00, with longer hours in summer and shorter hours in Ramadan. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. In 2026 international adults pay 90 MAD, ages 7 to 17 pay 65 MAD and children under 7 enter free. It is also a place of remembrance for the 1960 earthquake, so keep your voice down and dress respectfully. See the kasbah page.
4. Cable car to the kasbah (city)
A cable car runs from a valley station at Pont Tildi, Rue Echouhada, in the Cité Suisse district. The ride lasts only a few minutes. It is a separate ticket from the kasbah entry, so you pay twice. Tickets are sold at the counter. Check the timetable on the day.

5. Souk El Had (city)
The regional tourism board gives its size as more than 13 hectares, with over 3,000 shops, 13 large gates and a wall about 6 m high. The name means Sunday market, but it is open on other days. It closes on Monday for the weekly cleaning. Go early on a weekday and bring cash. A guide is not needed, and haggling is a custom, not a rule. One guidebook gives Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00–18:00. See the Souk El Had page.
6. Medina d'Agadir (city outskirts)
This medina is a newly built complex started in 1992 by Coco Polizzi. It is not an original old town from before the earthquake. It lies in Hay Aghroud, Bensergao, about 10 minutes by car from the center by the operator's estimate. Entry in 2026 is 40 MAD for adults, 20 MAD for ages 4 to 12 and free under 4. It is open daily from 9:00 to 18:00, and the restaurant is closed on Tuesday. Private photos and videos are allowed.
7. Crocoparc (city outskirts)
The park is in Drarga on the RN 8 at kilometer post 16. Entry in 2026 is 100 MAD for adults and 70 MAD for ages 3 to 12. Hours are currently 10:00–17:30, with the ticket desk closing 30 minutes earlier, and they change by season and on holidays. Picnics and pets are not allowed. Bus 5 from the Wilaya Agadir and bus 9 from Inezgane go to Drarga. A transport package from Agadir or Taghazout costs 250 MAD for adults and 150 MAD for children. As with any animal park, decide for yourself whether a visit suits you.
8. Musée de la Reconstruction (city)
The museum opened in February 2025 in the former Bank Al-Maghrib building on Avenue Général Kettani. It shows historic photos, films and documents about the earthquake and the rebuilding. It is open 10:00–18:00 and closed on Tuesday. Foreign visitors pay 50 MAD. It is a good first stop before the kasbah.

Day trips beyond the city
The last four entries are day trips. Check the weather before you go to Paradise Valley, and read the safety notes.
9. Paradise Valley (day trip)
This valley in the foothills of the western High Atlas has limestone walls, palms and natural rock pools. It is not a supervised pool. The route runs along the coast to Aourir and then on the P1001 toward Imouzzer. The road winds and is considered dangerous at night. In summer the pools can be almost empty, so spring and autumn are better. After heavy rain, flash floods are possible. Do not jump into the pools. See the Paradise Valley page.
10. Souss-Massa National Park (day trip)
The protected area lies south of Agadir between the mouths of the Souss and the Massa rivers. The regional tourism board describes the Rokein and Ourais reserves and more than 30,000 hectares. Half-day and full-day visits are done with approved eco-guides, booked through the park administration or an authorized provider. Do not expect to drive through fenced areas on your own.
11. Taroudant (day trip)
Taroudant is a walled medina in the Souss valley. The craft souk runs between Place Assarag and Talmeklat, and there are tanneries near Bab Targount. Treat it as a half-day or full-day visit. Ask your driver or guide about the workshops that are open on your day.
12. Tiznit (day trip)
Tiznit is known for its medina and its silversmiths. Useful landmarks are Place Al Michouar, the spring of Ain Aqdim (Source Bleue) and the Kasbah Aghanaj. Buy silver from a seller you trust.

Things to do in Agadir: frequently asked questions
What are the best things to do in Agadir?
For one day in the city, combine the beach and Corniche, the marina and the kasbah, then add the museum or the souk. For a second or third day, choose between Paradise Valley, Souss-Massa and the towns of Taroudant and Tiznit.
How many days do I need in Agadir?
One full day covers the beach, the marina, the kasbah and the museum. Add one day per day trip. Marrakech is a long journey from here, so it is better as an overnight trip.
Is the kasbah ticket included with the cable car?
No. The kasbah entry and the cable car are separate tickets. Buy each one separately.
When is Souk El Had closed?
On Monday, for the weekly cleaning. On other days go early in the morning and bring cash.
Is there an old town in Agadir?
Not in the classic sense. The city was rebuilt after the earthquake of 29 February 1960. The Medina d'Agadir is a newly created medina complex from 1992, and the historic remains sit on the kasbah hill.
Is the Vallée des Oiseaux park open?
The park has been under reconstruction, and the opening status can change. Ask your hotel or a local source on the day before you plan a trip around it.
