Choosing an area in Agadir
Agadir is a modern city rebuilt after the earthquake of 29 February 1960, and its main stretch of beach runs along a wide bay. Where you sleep decides how you spend your days: in a seafront resort, near the marina's cafés, in a smaller hotel in a city neighborhood, or in a separate surf town up the coast.
This page sorts the options by location, not by hotel name. It gives no room prices, because rates change with the date and the season. Compare hotels on your own travel dates, and check the weather page for the season that suits your plans.

The areas in detail
One section per location, with the points that decide the choice.
Founty and the seafront resorts
Founty is the district for resorts by the sea. One example is the Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort, which its operator places in Founty and describes as a seaside resort with access to the promenade. That does not mean every hotel in Founty is the same distance from the sand. Ask each hotel how far the beach is and how you reach it.
The promenade and the bay
The city describes walks along the Corniche and water sports as the main things to do on the seafront. The beach itself is covered on the beach page. Strong currents are a risk on Moroccan beaches. A local report from July 2025 warned of dangerous currents near the mouth of the Oued El Houar, so check conditions before you swim.
The marina
The marina is a leisure harbor that opened in 2007. It has cafés, restaurants and shops, and boat trips leave from here. It suits visitors who want food and evening activity on the doorstep. Whether a given street is quiet or lively at night depends on the building, so read recent guest comments about noise.
Talborjt
Talborjt lies north-east of the central area. A well-known travel guide describes a cluster of small, lower-priced hotels and café-restaurants there. It suits you if you want a city base and do not mind being away from the seafront. Check each property's prices for your dates.
The Taghazout bay
Taghazout is a separate surf and coastal town near Agadir, not a part of the city. The national tourism office names Anchor Point and Killer Point as spots for experienced surfers. Staying there means a trip each time you want to reach Agadir's sights.

What to check for any hotel
Descriptions in hotel listings are marketing, not legal guarantees. For each property, confirm these points yourself before you pay:
- The star rating and what it includes.
- Step-free access, if you need it.
- Whether the rate is all-inclusive.
- Whether the beach in front of the hotel is guarded, and who has the right to use it.
- The distance and route to the sea.
- Parking charges, if you arrive by car.
Look at the address on a map, not only at the area name in the listing. A hotel can be called a beach hotel and still be a walk from the water, and the map shows the real distance and the route.
Tourist tax and the cost of extra beds or child supplements vary by property, so ask for the total before you confirm. For your arrival, the Agadir airport guide explains the bus and taxi options to each area.
